Jeffrey Schneider
Associate Professor and Chair
Jeffrey Schneider arrived at Vassar College in Fall 1997. His teaching interests include language courses; drama; literature and culture from the turn of the century; popular culture; and lesbian, bisexual and gay studies. Together with Silke von der Emde, he has developed an online German-language learning environment called MOOssiggang, which is currently used in the [Intermediate German Sequence]. In addition to articles on language learning, he is currently completing a book-length study tentatively entitled Uniform Fantasies: Militarism, Masculinity, and Male Sexuality in Imperial Germany. Jeffrey Schneider received his PhD in German Studies from Cornell University and his BA from Bates College.
